Which exam is tough IBPS Clerk or IBPS PO exam?



The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), a self-governing body, which conducts IBPS Clerk and IBPS PO exam. 2. Number of Vacancies: -IBPS Clerk exam has vacancies given state-wise whereas in IBPS PO exam the vacancies are nationwide. Therefore, in IBPS Clerk exam, there is a local language criterion where candidate from any other state cannot apply, if he is not expert in functional local language. It means that if an applicant wants to job in any other state then he has to skilled in the local language of that particular state.  IBPS Clerk exam may have a huge probability that there are fewer vacancies in his home town. It implies that his probabilities of selection are scanty in his hometown. So, the level of competition seems tougher in IPBS Clerk exam than IBPS PO exam.



3. Previous year Cut-Off Marks: - The difficulty level of questions is higher in IBPS PO exam than IBPS Clerk exam for it being the exam for officer level jobs. It states that the cut-off marks for IBPS PO exam will be lesser than IBPS Clerk exam. So, the cut-off marks for IBPS Clerk exam are higher, as the asked questions in the exam are of basic nature. If you speak of the previous year, cut-off for IBPS PO was 76 out of 200, whereas for IBPS Clerk (Delhi), it was 89.88 out of 100 (180 out of 200), which is hard to score for a regular candidate. 

As we know that the difficulty level of IBPS Clerk is lower than that of IBPS PO exam but the competition is tougher for IBPS Clerk, as cut-off of this exam is much higher. IBPS PO exam, an Officer’s level exam is predictably tougher and is designed to test the conceptual knowledge of every concept through set of complicated questions. We should reiterate that it will be a nationwide recruitment drive and therefore intellectually strong candidates will have better chances of cracking this exam. For IBPS Clerk exam, the number of applicants and cut-off marks will be reasonably higher and so probability of selection will be predictably lower. Thus, the competition will be much tougher for aspirants appearing for IBPS Clerk exam.
